Christmas in Vegas Bucket List

Christmas in Vegas

I'm currently working on writing a Christmas-themed novel for my National Novel Writing Month project, and it inspired me to put together this Christmas (or winter) themed bucket list for other Vegas locals or those who might be visiting during December.

  1. Get and decorate your Christmas tree. If you are visiting, there should be plenty of beautifully decorated trees to see around the strip.

  2. Buy a favorite hot drink and walk your pets or kids at a local park. Consider visiting Springs Preserve if you're craving some nature.

  3. Bake Christmas cookies - I like to donate them to our local service members.

  4. Send holiday cards to your relatives - If you're feeling crafty, make your own! For visitors, purchase and mail postcards to let your loved ones know you're thinking of them.

  5. Make holiday snacks (or just good old popcorn) and watch your favorite holiday movies.

  6. Buy stocking stuffers from local small businesses.

  7. The Park (between Park MGM, New York New York, and T-Mobile Arena) has outdoor holiday music and activities during December.

  8. Drive thru Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway - you can buy tickets ahead of time on their website.

  9. Enchant Christmas (sponsored by Hallmark) is being hosted at both Resorts World and the Las Vegas Ballpark.

  10. Make hot chocolate (my choice), eggnog (my spouse's choice), or both!

  11. See a show at The Smith Center - whether it's the classic Nutcracker ballet or another show, there are lots of opportunities for live entertainment. They sell out quickly, so make sure to book early!

  12. Donate time or money to a favorite charity.

  13. Most casinos on the Vegas strip will have themed displays in December. A few on my list to see are the Bellagio Conservatory (a must every season), the Wynn, the Palazzo, and the Aria.

  14. Visit the Ethel M Chocolate Factory and see their cactus gardens all decked out in holiday lights.
